After 80 years of growing a wholesale operation, we were thinking of ways to not only let local families know about the food we’re growing right in their backyards – but also of how to give back to the community we’re growing healthy, fresh produce for.
So, we started a program similar to an “old school” magazine drive where a schools and their families can sell memberships to our CSA. We donate 40% ($10) of the membership fee directly to the school, and then share 10% ($2.50) of every box purchased by their members throughout the calendar year. At a time when we have an abundance of healthy food to share, and when our schools always needs that extra little bit of help – we figured, win-win!
Imagine an educational fundraiser that teaches students about the source of their fruits and vegetables as it relates to their health? What if you could manage a fundraiser that never ends producing income for your school? How about not having to touch or distribute anything? Just cash the checks. Our program is what every teacher, administrator, and PTO board has dreamt of running.
